these photos were taken late afternoon on the third anniversary of the 9/11 atrocity.... I was only there for about an hour, but it was very gratifying to see so many people come to pay tribute to the fallen.... it is especially moving to see all the out-of-towners come to pay their respect to us semi-American heathen new yorkers.... god bless you good people.....

it's like people are makng their own pageantry in the absence of any official ceremonies...

some people object to the flagwaving that was so much a part of the post 9/11 experience.... but I love it... if you won't wave a flag when thousands of your own people are slaughtered in our own backyard.... when will you wave it....
